1. Who we are

This website, The Wealthest, is the financial advisory practice of Stephan Maritz, operating under 1.618 Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2012/115015/07) — a juristic representative of Discovery Life Limited, an authorised financial services provider, FSP No. 18147.

We collect this information directly from you when you complete a form, book a call, or contact us.

4. Direct marketing & your choices

We will only send you marketing communications (newsletters, tips, offers) on the channels you have specifically opted in to — email, WhatsApp, or both. Responding to an enquiry you submitted is not marketing and does not require opt-in.

You can opt out at any time — click "unsubscribe" in any email, reply STOP to a WhatsApp message, or email us at capetown.broker@gmail.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect our ability to respond to a specific enquiry you've made.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers ("operators") who process it on our behalf, under contract, to deliver our service:

Where you decide to take up a financial product, your information will also be shared with the relevant product supplier (for example, Discovery) to arrange that product.

6. Cross-border processing

Some of the service providers above store data on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an adequate level of protection, as required by POPIA.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry, provide advice, and meet our legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations (FAIS generally requires records to be kept for at least five years). Where you have opted in to marketing, we keep your details until you opt out.

8. How we protect it

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. No system is completely secure, but we work only with reputable providers that maintain recognised security standards.
